Darla's Story
Life
After moving to Oregon to go to College, I relocated to San Diego in 1997. I finished up graduate school, traveled a bit and then met my husband. We have a beautiful baby girl Brooke Elizabeth-Grace. She is my joy in life. My husband has two children from a previous marriage they are 17 and 13... great kids. We are very close and have a great time together. My husband recently retired from the Navy...no he's not that old.. just joined young...and is starting his second career here in San Diego. We do our share of traveling. We own a home in beautiful San Diego. My life is very blessed. I have many wonderful life time friends. I enjoy traveling, and being outside. We spend most of our time mountain biking, jogging, roller blading, and spending time near the water... anything outside. I am training for my second Marathon right now and hope to complete a Triathalon soon. Having a great ti...Expand for more
me. Life is good. : ) I hope everyone is well.
School
High School was kind of a rough time for me. I was really searching during that time. My biggest crush was obviously my first love, Bill Schaefer. I can't say any teacher inspired me.. I would say Bill and his family inspired me the most during that entire time and they are to whom I am most grateful. I consider them family to this day. I had so many funny, crazy times, I don't know where I would begin. Hiding out in the dunes for 4 hours in the wee hours of the morning because the cops were breaking up our dune party was pretty exciting. Breaking down after a Crue concert in L.A. in the middle of the night was rather exciting.... I would certainly do it over, but I would focus much more energy on studying, and a little less time on partying and seeing how many classes I could get out of. ; ) But, that is how we learn right.
