Darlene's Story
After graduating from Wheeling High School, I attended Ohio Valley General Hospital School of Nursing for three years where I became a Registered Nurse and worked in the OVMC operating room for 17.5 years. As much as I loved nursing, I wanted to do more with my life, so I earned a Bachelor's degree in psychology at Wheeling Jesuit University then degrees in counseling/educational psychology from WVU. ted summa cum laude, worked as a drug/alcohol counselor, high school teacher, and college instructor. The courses I taught were health, case management, sociology, general psychology, and applied psychology. Now, I am happily retired and spending time with relatives and friends. My husband and I enjoy our 42 acre farm where we are restoring the over 100 year old house and remodeling our guest house when we are not traveling or working in our garden. Life is good and I hope to continue reconnecting with old friends and completing our family geneology.
