Darlene's Story
Life
I have 4 daughters and 6 grandchildren. My husband was an attorney. I've been a widow for 14 years now.
Its been hard to keep in touch with friends because we've moved so much. We've lived in 7 states. IL, WI, CO, OR, AZ, KS, and CA.
I love to travel. I've seen all the states and been to Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. I just got back from Australia February 28. My most exciting trip was when I smuggled bibles into China. Our last trip to Africa was the most devastating. Norway was the most beautiful and Israel was the most stirring.
IÂve always enjoyed geography and was thrilled to see all the strange places that IÂve studied about, like Lake Titicaca in Peru and Bolivia, The China wall, the fjords, and glaciers. IÂve been from Point Barrow, the northern most tip ...Expand for more
of Alaska, to the southern tip of South Africa and this year I've been to Australia. ItÂs been fun.
I never intend to go to Antarctica. Much too cold! Six continents is enough.
At the insistence of my best friend, Ellen, I took up bridge 2 years ago and really enjoy it.
I also have been refurbishing old pictures and do fantasy pictures of my grandchildren on Adobe Photoshop. I can add people into picturesÂ
or take them out. ItÂs a lot of fun.
IÂm very active. I like to walk up and down our hills with my neighbor. WeÂll do at least 1 or 2 mile, 5 times a week. I exercise my arms by rough housing with my 4 year old twin grandsons and lifting them up to touch the door posts. They are so delightful.
I enjoy reading my bible and listening to TBN. The Lord has been good.
