Darlene's Story
Life
Most of you won't remember me - I wasn't very involved in high school, but you know what they say about 'late bloomers'. I now live in Florida. April '04 was a busy month - my son was married on the 4th, I was married on the 24th, and graduated with my BA in Marketing as well. My 31 year old daughter and 28 year old son don't need much of my time anymore so I've been enjoying traveling. In 2000 I went to France. Went to Hawaii in 2000 and again in 2001. Also took a short visit up to NY in Dec. 2001. Honeymooned in 2004 hiking in Maine, NH, VT and Mass. In 2005, my husband and I visited Ecuador and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. In 2007 we spent a week in Arizona while 2008 kept us closer to home with a week in Orlando. Took a road trip with the grandkids in 2010, and looking forward to a couple road trips in 2011 including Colorado.
I have 3 grandkids - Ages 10, 7, and 6.
So, everyone.. let's get those bios done. Love to hear what everyone's been up to!

I always wanted to be a accountant when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea idea. As it turns out, they were sort of right.

If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have flexibility, challenges, and no micro-managing to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the kitchen and add on a greenhouse. My dream home would be anywhere remote and self sustaining.
If I won $100 million, I'd give a tiny bit of it to family, then spend the rest on investments, remote getaway and traveling.
My current age is 50. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be settled, wise and content. I was so completely wrong.
I share my home with hubby and lots of animals, which I find exhilarating.
In 10 years, I hope to be retired. I'm going to get there by robbing a bank (j/k).
My first job was at a shoe store, where I got paid peanuts to sell shoes. What I remember most about it is first time I met a minority, and it wasn't anything like my "weird" family had said it would be... LOL!.
