Darrick's Story

Well for starters you won't find a senior photo of me in our 1984 yearbook, due to an family emergency that caused me not to be able to make the senior photo shoot. For the first time in 30 years I have release two pictures from our senior year, One posing with Ms. Forbes "No" Ms.Forbes and I never dated, we were cool back in the day and just friends clowning around in class as Greg Lewis (Class of 85) stood off in the background. Now what do I remember from my days at Ole Main? People started calling me Morris Day/Prince because I started wearing Suits and Stacey Adams to school, just being cool and in the classroom acting a fool. When I should've been serious about the books and thinking about college. Well guess what, I didn't have a plan or set any kind of goals. Finish school and went into the workforce doing little to nothing and hanging out thinking I can make it big in entertainment in the music business. However, I serve a wonderful God who saw something more in my life. I had to remake and turn around the once classroom clown and stop messing around. Life is real and Life is no joke. Voted least likely to succeed...well I actually wasn't voted least likely, but I know some of the teachers may have thought this and cast this vote in their head. Can't blame them...because I had a chair with my name on it in the asst. principal office and a chair with my name on it i...Expand for more
n detention hall. You live and you learn... Well I got it together... Married a young lady who happen to be a LR Central Tiger, together we produce (3) children who later became charging wildcats and graduated from my alma mater of North Little Rock High. My children went and rewrote all my wrongs. One of my son (youngest male child, I don't like the term middle child) was a star point guard for the basketball team and received a scholarship and went on to play basketball graduating college with a BA. I bet you thinking to yourself "your son played Basketball, he must got his height from his mother, because the Darrick Lipscomb I remember was a little dude" Ok...moving right along to other son (oldest male child) and my daughter (baby of the 3) both currently attending at UALR, very proud of them all. Since Dad didn't take education serious and barely made it out of High School. They have a mother who didn't play about education... I have my memories of the majority of my classmates and these memories didn't start in 1984. Some of us started together in Elementary at Park Hill, then we moved on to Central (All 7th Grade), on then on to Poplar Street and we complete our mission at Ole Main High School. Well what is Darrick Lipscomb doing now? Well my now photo taken back when I was in my 30's will explain it. Bad Boys, Bad Boys watcha gonna do when they come for you...
