Dave's Story
After leaving school my buddy Ron Vreeken and I rode our bikes across Canada. We just camped and traveled as we saw fit. After the trip I headed to work to earn some more money to travel through out Europe. Ron was with me on this trip also. I met my wife in Spain while. I lost my travellers checks and she ran the American Express office in Benidorm. We stayed in England for a short while and then she immigrated to Canada. We got married in 1973 and had our first Son in 1977 and our second in 1981. We now have two grandchildren, both boys. In 1998 my buddy Chris and I wet on a 18 day African Safari which was one big adventure to say the least. All our travel once we arrived at the main camp was by dug out canoes. We got rammed by Hippos twice while traveling the river systems of the Kilombero North area of Tanzania. Hilary and I along with a grouop of friends went back to Africa in 2007 on ...Expand for more
a 23 day overland truck trip which was another great trip. We have been taking in kids from Canada World Youth and a program called Friends for the last 18 years so have numerous Sons and Daughters from all over the world. Hilary's passion is travel and she is in the business so we have been fortunate to be able to traveled quite a bit. Ten years ago my brothers and I met our older Sister for the first time which was a very pleasant experience. You can figure that one out. So all in all it has been a very interesting ride through time and I'm hoping to make contact with some old school friends and acquaintances to see how their journeys have turned out. It was really nice to touch base with Gary Walker and Ann Baines so far.
Hobbies:
Archery, Handloading and shooting sports, fly fishing, camping, hunting, and telemark skiing. I did my level one telemark instructors course three years ago.
