Dave's Story
David Guardanapo currently consults for a variety of ¿Green¿ technology companies. With a lifelong interest in methodologies of energy conversion, conservation and implementation, he enjoys exploring opportunities for new and innovative systems in food and beverage development.
David Guardanapo is Chairman of CREMA, LLC , the parent company of a restaurant, coffee roasting and processing plant, and coffee sales company. Overseeing operations, Mr. Guardanapo has in-depth knowledge of the coffee industry through years of experience in the field, from buying green coffee beans internationally to owning and operating coffee houses, coffee roasteries and a wholesale/retail bakery. He has consulted extensively within the industry, gaining invaluable knowledge along the way. His expertise in the arena of negotiation has facilitated a number of gainful mergers, bringing together disparate but complimentary elements to create innovative technologies within the food and beverage industry.
DavidGuardanapo fieldsoftelecommunications and the internet for decades, pioneering in the phone card industry as well as long distance services and international calling. He sold services to AT&T and WorldCom, finally exiting the field at the peak of Silicone Valley¿s power.

Of special note is the founding of WorldConnect Inc in 1988 by David Guardanapo. He focused on financial accountability and technical expertise within the telecommunications business. He developed certain intellectual properties and built ANI, a subsidiary of WorldConnect, into the second largest ¿950 Dialaround¿ service, (an operator service) in California.
Seeing the innovative potential, Mr. Guardanapo focused WorldConnect as a debit telephone card company in 1992 servicing many Fortune 500 companies. Upon winning a contract with IndyCar racing (CART), the Company became one on the top five phone debit card companies in the U.S. Rather than confine itself to either of the two accepted venues for prepaid cards, utilitarian applications or the collectible market, WorldConnect targeted both. This let the Company gain business from such companies and institutions as Quaker State, March of Dimes, Kansas City Life Insurance, and the U.S. Armed Forces. To enhance and expand the impact of the prepaid market and to educate the public, the Company produced and created the International Phonecard Conference & Exposition. This event attracted participants from around the world to the preeminent assembly on the subject.

kly in the international long distance market. WCL invested into a research and development effort for proprietary technologies that deliver an exclusive service product for the international hotel and business market. Continuing to improve on its offerings, WCL devoted a major portion of its developmental energy on a series of products that refined and updated the service. Additionally, the Company utilizes the services of Integretel, Inc. for consumer inquiry and telemarketing services through its 200 operator staffed call center. In total, the Integretel relationship allows WCL to provide the entire spectrum of telecommunications services from product development and least cost call routing to billing, collection, and customer service.
The CEO, David Guardanapo, has owned or operated several Inter-Exchange Carriers, bringing proven competence to the Company¿s technical operation. Through his former enterprises, Mr. Guardanapo has written proprietary software that facilitates seamless international call re-origination, a service innovation successfully provided by only one other company in the industry. He formed WC/STS in late 1996 by merging WorldConnect Communications with a buy-out of Shared Telecommunications Systems (¿STS¿), a facility based switched reseller located in Hayward, California, Texas,Florida New York and major Hub around the US and Canada. Immediately upon the purchase of STS, WCL invested to retrofit the service to its new switch. The major improvement was the addition of an engineered debit card Enhanced Services Platform (¿ESP¿). An open architecture, PC based switching and value added services platform, the ESP gave WCL the capability to provide enhanced long distance service, prepaid phonecard and cellular products, international call re-origination, 800 call routing, voice messaging, conference calling, and 900 audio test services. WorldConnect was the first telecommunications company to traffic long distance services in China in an agreement with the Chinese government, and was the first to offer prepaid phonecard services in Brazil. Mr. Guardanapo¿s broad international connections have facilitated many unique and complimentary mergers throughout the world.
Mr. Guardanapo was an officer in the Marine Corps for 23 years, his education and training focused on communications, surveillance and computer technology. He served in the White House extensively, reporting directly to2 Presidents. A highly decorated Marine, he served 3 tours of duty in Vietnam.
