Dave's Story

Life My Life I tried college in Hutchison but still had too much party left in me. In '74 I attended a Vo-Tech in Beloit with Jeff Paschal, got married (not to Jeff), and then moved to Garden City KS in '75. This could get long so I'll shorten it as much as possible. Divorced two years later, married a singer and moved to Nashville in '80. Loved it there and recommend everyone go there at least once. Plan to spend a few days as there is so much to do. I loved the lakes, the music (there is rock in Nashville!), the people, and everything about the south. Lived there 17 years, 7 of them as a single man, oh boy! Did a year and a half in Memphis opening a new office for the company I worked for, but my home was always Nashville. Memphis is a great place to visit as well, but living there wasn't so pleasant. I got bored and went back to school there and got a degree in electronics. Fat lot of good it's done me, but it was fun. That was in '92 I think. Anyway, in '97 my ex decided she had to move back to Garden City and she took my son with her, so I was kind of forced to follow if I wanted to see him. I had him every weekend, and lots of times he stayed with me for weeks at a time, so we had plenty of time together when he was little. Moving to be near him was a no-brainer. Now I'm stuck in the armpit of the world (kind terms), and looking to move out of here when Tyler does. Should be soon! Two years a...Expand for more
go, Debbie Nuss wrote me from this website and we began talking. I ended up visiting, and we've been together ever since. She lives 350 miles away, but we've managed to make it work. We have plans to make it permanent as soon as the kids are all taken care of. Mine is nearly out of the house, and hers are too, so we hope to take up housekeeping together soon. Life sure takes some turns and mine has been wonderful. I'm blessed to have done the things I've done and appreciate all of it, even the bad. I quit partying in Nashville at about age 26, quit drinking about 3 years ago, and quit smoking a couple of months ago. That one is hard - I miss smoking, but I think would miss life more if I continue. Do you miss life when you pass? Life is good and I don't want to miss a thing! My Kids It's 2007 and Tyler Donovan is 19. I followed him and his mom back to Kansas from Nashville in '97, just to be close to him. Thankfully, he moved in with me when he was 15 and it's been a real blessing ever since. I hate living where I am, but being with him is great. He's working now, and he and his girl have plans to go to college together next year after she graduates high school. Things haven't been real good for him, but he's getting his %(&! together and doing very well now. My Job I do Autocad drafting for a tank manufacturer. It's long hours, thankless, too little bucks, and probably a lot like your job.
