Dave's Story
Went to old Whittier School and the day we got out to go to 7th grade Bob Rottenberger and I said we hoped the place burned down. I regret it to this day. That evening a lightning strike caught it on fire and destroyed it. (A COINCIDENCE) Mr Shabinski our Gym teacher (He later became Principal of the rebuilt school) told us not to let our hair go to ducktails and become knuckleheads when we went on to West Hi. Well wouldn't you know it I was kind of quiet and somewhat of a knucklehead. Later got the grease out of my hair they let me in PDS Dennis Shaw and I almost got suspended for shooting beans with bean shooters at the organ chimes in study hall. AJ had a fit. (do any of these kids today know what bean shooters are? Oh I guess they can google it)Finally figured out what to do. d management. Started my own commercial Roofing Business and been working at it for 30 years. Am a SCUBA Instructor and active Diver. Wife is a Master Diver. We are very active Jehovah's Witnesses living on The Westside in Green Township. Might knock on your door and wake you up some Saturday. (Grin) We raised two girls who turned out bright and self sufficient somehow.One graduated from Walnut Hills in 89 the other from West Hi in 93. We have been fortunate to travel extensively. We also dive all over the Caribbean. favorite dive destination is Bonaire Dutch Island by Aruba. Knocking on doors, diving, and riding my Harley (not a biker but a motorcycle enthusiast) . Trying to be semi retired but having a business will not let you do that. Now and then I see someone who was in the class of 64 and I often think "will they remember me?" Once I asked a woman at the gym that I go to if she was so and so from the class of 64 and she became suspicious and said "who wants to know?" I wonder if she's wanted by the law. LOL
