Dave's Story
Life
Not much of a bio. After graduation I played around Maple Hts for a while then I went into the Navy in April of 67. Had a great time and got discharged in San Diego in 71. Spent a year in South Texas and then moved to Florida. Worked for the State Forestry Service for a couple of years and then went with the fire department. I just retired from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue after 30 years, sold my Florida house and am now living in Murphy, NC.
Military
I went to Boot Camp in Great Lakes and then got orders to Ships Co. in Memphis. Ha, Ha I thought are they going to put me on a Mississippi River Boat. Learned the...Expand for more
routine real fast and later hooked up with some good Chiefs in the avionics training division who got me in 'A' school. Had a great time in Memphis and got transfered to Beeville Texas and spent my time on the flight line working nights (meaning till 10pm at the latest). After that they had to make me do some sea duty so so they shipped me off to Imperial Beach, CA. Flight line again but with helicopters. Days while we were on shore and nights when we went to sea. I love being a line rat. Matter of fact I still land & launch helicopters now as one of my fire department duties when we fly patients out from emergency scenes.
