send a message, cant see that there guest book kids.
"Well that was a waste of a noise, nearly everybody tried to play TOO safe"
20pts an a bottle of geritol if you remeber that line.
Went to Steller my senior year, awesome experience, edjumakation wise it left both Dimond and most college experiences lacking.
Did my freshman year in college at World College West in Petaluma, CA studying Chinese Language and Culture before helping to create the International Business Management degree program, then in '89 when I was to spend a year in Shanghai, China up and closed because of Tiananmen square. Came back to Anchortown for a year, went to UAA for a semester. During that time 'Jens toy' ended up with Jens best friend(my bad), got engaged and stayed that way til '95-ish. Moved back to California in '90, lost my dad in '92, got my AA from Santa Rosa Junior College in '93 and got promoted into sales at scandinavian designs (dania) where I stayed til I wanted to puke at the site of myself.
Just shy of 8 years with the company (1998) I quit without notice, moved to Seattle and took a minimum wage job at a deli that a friend owned so I could be at the doorstep of a startup tech company when it was ready to open.
That worked, I was employee #1 (and like everyone else would be coming to the reunion in my helicopter if it only hadnt been for those meddling... vulture capitalists). Been in IT ever since and finally have a real job as a database analyst for a huge corporate law firm, nice view of the needle out my window, 3gigs of ram, yadda yadda.
Met my wife in 2000, browsing a site she built, emailed the webmaster and offered my help if any was needed, she wrote back and asked for a PERL script to process a survey, never have gotten around to that but she got a husband out of the deal. ...Expand for more
She had 2 boys, 9 and 12 at the time, we got married on a 3 year stent in DC in 2002, had one of our own in 2003, so now we have a 4, 16 and 18 year old. While in DC, I lived about 5 miles from -Dimond class of '87- buddy, Greg, still as good of friends today as when we were 11, he aquired his mini-me just a few months after I did.
My wife is my identical twin in more ways that words can say, but I guess it will have to suffice to say "she's a freak like me" and smarter, much much smarter than me, cant believe it took til I was 30 to figure out thats what I needed all along. Don't ever marry someone for "all the right reasons" if what you have for each other isn't down right annoying to your friends, then wait.
Being a dad is wonderful, incredible, terrifying, discusting, rewarding and exhasting, so if you havent jumped in yet, I dont know what to tell you, there are tiny moments that cannot be beaten, the youngest almost drowned in the ocean the other day, I pulled him out, heaved the water out of him and held him up while he puked, 6 hours later he was dry, happy and passed out in my arms, wouldnt trade that feeling for anything.
so in summation:
no helicopter, no degree, nothing all that interesting to speak of, no where near what I would have thought my story would be, and, doin just fine.
