Dave's Story
Life
I am married (since 1986) and have three children; two girls and one boy. We live in Utah where I own my own business. We enjoy living in Utah because of the diverse outdoor activity that can be taken advantage of. My activities consist of mountain biking, outdoor soccer (old mens league), raquetball, golf and skiing. We have been fortunate in forming some great freindships with other couples/families that have reloctated to Utah from various areas of the country. Our children keep my wife and I very busy with their activities, yet we try hard to make time for each other. Life is crazy as with all families, but we would not have it any other way.
School
I enjoyed my years that I spent at McCluer North. As with most adults, I now wish that I would have tried harder academicaly. Another wish of mine is that I would have pursued playing baseball, however, from my sophomore year, I was very much intimidated by the sophomore team coach (who was promoted to varsity the next year). Just think, I could have had a career playing for the St. Louis Cardinals (Yeah right). As it is, I have to actually work for a living. My years at McCluer North overall, were great. great group of friends of whom I still get together with: Rob Missavage, Dave Besselsen, Greg Wynd, Barry Eschbach (even though we are scattered around the country).
College
Directly out of highschool, I attended Ranken Technical for HVAC. In 1987, while working as a product mangager for a manufacturer in St. Louis, I began attending Webster University 4 nights a week in their business/administration program.
Workplace
Own an independent manufacturer's representative sales firm which employs 5 including myself. We represent several manufacturers in the Heating/Air Cond/Ventilation industry for the states of Utah and Idaho. It is not the most exotic industry, however, it requires a fair bit of travel. Between sales/business meetings and incentive trips, we have been able to see quite a bit of the world in the past 12 years. I enjoy being able to bring profitable products and relationships to my customers and the manufacturers we represent. If the relationship is good for both the customer and the manufacturer, it ultimately is the best deal for my company.
I can honestly say that I enjoy what I do and that I feel very blessed to have the oportunities that have been presented to my family and me.
