David's Story

Life Hi everyone! Since our last reunion, things are upward and onward. Elaine and I were married on September 14, 2002. Amanda (my foster daughter) was Maid of Honor. Marriage and family is wonderful. God truly ordained it. Still work for Walmart. Released three C.D.'s under my own label. (D.H. Records). The first turned a profit within a year. Released a kids album called "God Chose A Child". I play a Christian Pirate named "Billy Bucanneer". I do a ventriliquist routine, with a pirate puppet. His name is Short-Tom Silver. I based him on a friend from Philidelpia, PA. The C.D.'s purpose, is telling children about Jesus Christ. Still talk to Gov. Jeb Bush. He passes info. to his brother when I ask. I was chaplain of the Bay County Republican Roundtable; for 2009. It was my first ministers' office; outside of my own work and church. Then, I served as locker room chaplain, for Gulf Coast Wrestling. In October 2004, I met Hulk Hogan. He came to the Panama City Mall; promoting his daughter's music career. We talked for two minutes and shared my testimony. I said, "You're one of the reasons I became a Born-Again Christian and Minister of the Gospel." That was the first time he heard search a thing, and he acted shock. He insisted on signing my replica of his World Belt. Because of the line, I didn't get a personal picture, but plenty of others. Plan to send some, if asked, for reunion pictures. If you wondered, he's tall and big as John Law. In 2006, I became friends with Will Prichard. He owns Southeasten Xtreme Wrestling. He was "The Backstreet Brawler", in the orginal ECW. I played a heel (bad guy) manager. I managed Lord Humongous (John Bass); a character from Mel Gibson's "The Road Warrior". Hugo is 6'9" and 350 lbs. When I ended my run, I wrestled in a tag-team match. I lost, when I submitted to a figure-four leglock. Helped a friend named Tom Carter, book a wrestling show. He was owner Emerald Coast Wrestling Alliance (ECWA). He sold me 10% of the promotion. This made me part-owner of a wrestling promotion. I played a face (good guy) General Manager. As time passed, Tom started looking after his Dad. He could not focus on ECWA; so he closed it down. I sold my stock back to him. I claimed it as a loss on a tax return. Later, he and I worked for Gulf Coast Wrestling. Besides being chaplain, I played the GM/Promoter of GCW. Nothing futher to say, except looking forward to 2011. May the Holy Spirit bless you all. School Was labled the "class loser", by key classmates. Not all viewed me thisway, but key students' views struck the most. Despite not joining clubs or sports, I made friends with student leaders. Teachers were kind, but I allowed the "popular" few students' views keep me down. We attended the same church and was afraid of losing their "friendships". After graduation, my reality became sand castles. The tide came and washed everything away. Through this, I saw my realtionship with Jesus Christ was false. I rededicated my life to Him. He became the friend that "sticks closer than a brother" (Proverbs 18:24). My ...Expand for more
potential in life was fulfilled, thanks to Him. When I share my success stories, I give Him all the glory. College Entered college at Gulf Coast Community College. I feared High School's "loser" label haunting me. I heard college was 100 times harder, which increased my fear. But, faith in Jesus Christ turned everything around. The Holy Spirit led me to a New Testament class. The late Earl Bailey, was my first biblical mentor. His class re-taught me, the Bible's basics. I learned more and read the Bible daily. I've read it cover-to-cover, numerous times. As I grew into my college student role, I made the "Honors List". Soon, I made friends with my professors. When deciding a major, I looked at music or social science. Then, the Holy Spirit revealed His calling on me. I studied to become a minister of "The Gospel of Jesus Christ". After graduating in 1994, I went to FSU. Didn't work out, but God gave me another direction. I took correspondance courses, with Global University (Assemblies of God). It took six years, but I finished my last two years of college. Graduated in August 2002, but ordained in 2000. Not in full-time ministry yet, but have a song & children's ministry. Story Wizard Additions I always wanted to be a pro-wrestler when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a dumb idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. Reading my favorite book, "The Holy Bible". Also, I pray and/or watch a good DVD; is what makes a bad day good. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have prayer, my Bible, and another book to read to be able to deal with the day-to-day. The two persons from my past who I'd most like to see again is Noel & Jerry, to ask forgiveness of wrongs I did (knowingly or unknowingly). If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my bathroom and add on a back porch. My dream home would be house in eastern Tennesse. If I won $100 million, I'd give 10% of it to my church (God's tithe), then spend the rest on Elaine, Amanda and retirement. My current age is 37. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dead. I was completely wrong. My best friend would tell you I'm supportive, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as questionable. The weirdest job I ever had, was Kmart. I was fired, after two days and never understood why. But, "poetic justice" came in 2002 (Kmart's bankruptcy). I share my home with my wife Elaine, which I find wonderful. If I had a opportunity for one do-over, I would join a club at Mosley High School. In 10 years, I hope to be alive. I'm going to get there by living for Jesus Christ and taking care of myself. The one thing that would surprise everyone at our next reunion, is I finally went to all the places, I missed at Grad Nite '91. (Couldn't afford to go). My first job was at Kmart, where I got paid four to five dollars an hour. What I remember most about it is I was fired after two days. I always wanted to be a lawyer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. reading and going out
