here things wind down. Part of that is losing family and friends. Our home's no exception. In May 2019 Dave was diagnosed with bladder cancer - "adenocarcinoma, stage 4" and was given "a few months, maybe a year." It's a "rare, unpredictable, and aggressive" type cancer. Three surgeries and an ineffective chemotherapy round have pretty much confirmed that it's untreatable. .. We're coping and still get out and about some. Debbie's a rock; Dave's experienced no serious pain or chemo's side effects. Still somewhat active - using and enjoying the time left. ....It's unfortunate, sure, but death's a simple fact of life, isn't it? No whining. One feels more for those left behind than for oneself. And it's been a good and fulfilling life, even a charmed one perhaps. The people reading this were part of that. My profound gratitude. Thanks to one and all, and perhaps particularly to classmates from Mills HS. The two years at Mills were very special for me - and remain so. I think they changed me and also my life's direction. Heartfelt thanks to all who were there in those days, '58 to '60. The people made the difference, and all are an important part of my life and memories these days as other matters intrude. I cherish those memories while roaming life's dwindling terrain. ... And so for now, time to get on with it. To all, good health, family, community, and fortune. Cheers, my friends! Carry on... 👍🏿
