David's Story
This has to be a better year. After all, we all just turned 21. I expected to have to bail you out i=on January 1, but it seems you did drink responsibly. 202o was hard to take. I lost my wife, Sandy, after what they said would be a minor surgery. Covid took friends, while others suffered through it. Other than that, fellow classmates, how was your year?

I continue in my post as Volusia County Poet Laureate and I am an arts administrator, presenting local writing and cultural programs.

g professor in SUNY college system, I changed priorities. I was a writer who taught. Now I am writing full time. For examples, see my Florida Gold Medal winner, MERLIN STONE REMEMBERED, or my 23rd book of poetry, MOTHER TONGUE (Ahadada Books, 2021).
I have four kids who grew up in New York, but still hold Beverly dear because my/their family are still there--cousins and friends. Each has completed a B.A. and have gone on to graduate schools. My schools include Beverly High School. David later attended University of Massachusetts Amherst (Yahoo & Collegian, Writing); Johns Hopkins University for M.A.; University of Iowa for M.F.A.; Union Graduate School for Ph.D. In addition to my Poet Laureate post, I am founder and director of the Creative Happiness Institute, Inc., President of 3WS, World Wide Writers Services.
