Isaiah 40:10". More about David:"After finishing High School I joined the Marine Corps in 1975 and was trained to drive tactical jeeps, Duece & halfs (cargo & tankers), 5 ton trucks (cargo, dumps, & tractors), & Buses, along with hauling hazardous material (mainly fuel & explosives). After getting out in 1979 I began the task of refining my life/family with my wife. We were expecting our second son at that time . We learned, upon Lil David's arrival, that we'd made a minor mistake with our preparing Michael with the arrival of his sibling. We'd told him that he was going to have a playmate to play with. We only forgot one tiny detail we found out on day two for David, Michael had to wait a bit for him to grow up a little. Mike heard his brother fussing in the living room before mom & dad did and decided to "help out" by "sharing"/providing him with his favorite toy, a TONKA Jeep. No problem one would think except that the jeep was just as a big as his brother. When mom & dad saw what was happening we were both speechless, but (late...Expand for more
r on), were laughing at our mistake. In the end, these to sons of ours are closer than either of us could ask for. Just over a year later we had a huge suprise with the arrival of our twins, Robert & Jennifer. Maggie & I joke between ourselves that God heard (DA!) our intent to cut the "tubes" on future kids after this third pregnancy; hence the twins arrival. I quickly learned that I have a gift of working with my hands. I learned to research the projects that I undertake whether it's before I start or after I've just begun. I don't like going back to fix something that I've completed, but, if I find out that I've made a mistake I won't leave it until I have fixed it. Some call it a fault while others say its actually a positive trait. I'm not perfect in any way and I know this; but, who's to say we can't strieve to get close? I spent seventeen and a half years in the Army National Guard for both California and Washington. I started as an aircraft refueler, became a flight operations specialist, and finished as a helicopter crewchief mechanic. Had fun while in the Guard, between the assignments that I was on and the training. Saw the Space Shuttle land at Edwards three times and even got pictures of it landing while on one of them. Maggie and I transplanted our family to the south sound area, Olympia area, in 1993 and have enjoyed it there. The only hiccup is the unending rain during the spring and fall. After leaving the National Guard I started working for the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) as a Maintenance Technician in Seattle as a Tow Truck operator with the Incident Response Team (IRT) and later transferred to the Tacoma area. I got hit while cleaning up some debris from accident and, after 4+ years, left WSDOT with the intent of getting into something a bit more laid back. My back had other intentions for me and I've had to retire as a result.
