David's Story
There's nothing like growing up in Benicia…connect with friends often!
My first marriage was to my eighth-grade sweetheart, Mona Long, I didn’t remarry until age 45, to a wonderful teacher that recently became a wonderful artist after we moved back to Benicia.
In 1991, still single, I formed a national healthcare firm to represent the senior population that lived on fixed/limited incomes. My business model, increase the net income of seniors by reducing the cost of living. I grew it to represent over 210 hospitals in 26 states.
After semi-retirement in 2008, and becoming bored, I established a national healthcare technology company for Patient Identity Software that would verify the identity of a patient, their identity token (smart cards, phones, and biometric (ID)) and match the correct patient to the correct medical record 100% of the time. We patented this process and obtained patents for patient identity using Smart Cards or Smart chips on plastic. We installed this technology nationwide, took it public, and sold the company in 2015.
I am now semi-retired again…it's hard to retire without a purpose in life! So we created the Benicia Community Foundat...Expand for more
ion, Inc. to help give back to our hometown of Benicia and those that live here.
I moved back to Benicia in 2016 to "grow old with those I grew up with; how lucky am I"…there's nothing like childhood kinship!!
Activities: Loving my wife Annette, our daughters Kayla and Tiffany, Son-in-Law Devin, and three wonderful and amazing Grandchildren, Tennison, Prescott, and Ensley, Mom, Harold, and all our family and great friends!!!
I finally sold my Harley after riding motorcycles since high school (I didn't want to push my luck); still traveling to new places and seeing the wonders of life, scuba diving because it's amazing and peaceful, bicycling and golfing are my new hobbies. I used to love refurbishing older cars but now I only drive my last one, the one Charlie Knight and I restored. We try to stay healthy to enjoy a long and active lifestyle with my loving wife, family and friends.
I do have a thought; there should be more events to bring us together (regardless of history) and share life's moments!" We threw a Class Reunion in 2021 and about 240 of our classmates and friends showed…it was wonderful!
If you have any suggestions for gathering, let me know.
