David's Story
Life
Hi, Thanks for stopping by. First of all I wasn't very popular in school during my years at LOL. Most of my Friends I made was from playing basketball out at the P.E. courts. I am currently Divorced, was married for 14 years. I have Two beautiful daughters and they are my focal point in life. Ariel is 15 and Amanda is 20,and gave birth to my first grandson(Landon Taylor Mathews). I started working for Publix Supermarkets at the begining of my Senior year and 27 years later am still employeed with them. I Live in Lakeland where I have lived for 20 years now and love the area. I was always a shy type in High school so really didn't reachout for friends but had a couple. Guess you could say I was a Loner I never hung around the Different "Clicks" in school (Potheads, Jocks, Preps, etc..) but knew someone out of each of those groups. I had crushes on a few girls in school but was always too shy to approach them. Cheri Donnelly, Traci Richardson, Dianne Hall and Donna Mixon were a few that comes to mind.I did meet Denise James in my Senior year and she took an interest in me which blew me away. Didn't get to know her well but the times we did talk...Expand for more
she was always very sweet. I could see why the guys liked hanging around her, A very Beautiful woman. I was looking through some of the names and seen Robert Norton's name and I'll always remember the El camino he used to drive. Didn't know him well but always seemed like a pretty cool dude. Probably my best friend in high school was Tracy Brown, this guy could always make you laugh and was fun to hang around. I lived in Kent Groves when I was going to school at LOL and had friends out there as well that went to LOL. Denver Stanley, Penny Sheppard, Tim & Tony Bollin. When I go to see my Dad I always look to see if any of them are still around. If I had to name a a Favorite Teacher I'd have to say I had a few. Mrs. McDermott, Mr. English (also my JV football coach) Coach Bennedetto, Dr. Marsh and Mr. Clagget. I remember everyone telling me that Mrs. McDermott was a mean teacher, how wrong they were on that oppinion. She was the most sweetest teacher I had, always took an interest in makeing sure you knew what you was doing in her class. Well this is a brief description of my life and memories. Hope everyone in the Class of 81 is doing well ..........Take Care
