David's Story
Life
Who cares how old I am but where has the time gone. I have enjoyed every bit of it. I graduated high school with every one else and tried college for a couple of years but was too imature. I joined the Army in 1967 and never looked back. I got married in 1970 to a beautiful blonde and we just celebrated our 41st year. We have a 19 year old daughter and a 6 year old West Highland Terrier. Finished college at Ohio State in 1973, attended seminary and graduated in 1976. Just for the fun of it I completed a Masters of Education in 2003. I joined the Air Force in 1980 and retired on 1 August 07 after 32 years of active service. School
I was such a shy person in high school, I didn't stand a change with the girls that I admired from a distance. A few come to mind such as Cynthia Williams, Judy Ewton, Glenda Chambers, Martha Bass, Mary Ward and Nan Lyles. I finally got the nerve up to date Caroline Clark, and I really liked her a lot but lost my way. My parents had such a hold over my life, they didn't want me to date a catholic. How stupid!
I hold the highest respect for all my classmates. I noticed that Bruce Hudson, Steve Tice and Jimmy Spooner have passed away and of course that saddens me. What bright men. I have only been back to Fort Myers once since I left, in the spring of 2004. Things have changed quite a bit when it comes to demographics. My old neighborhoods in Tice and North Fort Myers have become gettos.
