David's Story
I got to Coral Park after living in NewYork. Miami is the largest suburb of NewYorkCity.
When we first moved there I saw the Mets play the Giants in the Polo Grounds in 1963. I saw Willie Mays catch a line drive to deep center field.
I attended P.S.132 a school mentioned in the movie "Malcolm X". In the fall of 1963 I started fifth grade at Incarnation School in Manhattan.I remember JFK's assassination, the weekend of sadness in fifth grade. We lived on Audubon avenue up the street from The Audubon Ballroom where Malcolm X was shot.
After pasing the Archdiocese High School entrance exam I attended Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx. I would take the Yankee Stadium bus to school every day. I saw the original World Trade Center (Twin Towers) being built in NewYorkCity.

g the only male in a typing class in 1970. I had to convince the teacher I was not there for the girls (yea right). I learned to type to be able to work on the computers. Yeah, the IBM selectric typewriters were bleeding edge in 70. Why would you need a computer in your house? Ah, to correct your spellinng!
You might be a nerd if....you are using a version of Linux to get on Classmates.com. I can't even call Geek Squad.
Would anyone like to tell horror stories about the "mod schedule" at the beginning of 1969-1970, or is it just my nightmare: lunch or english today, is it friday yet.
I live 2 blocks from Glades Middle. Can't drag race on Boystown Road - Lexus of West Kendall. Remember the "Green Miami" motto: WE FILLED IN THE EVERGLADES and put stamped concrete on our lawns.
