David's Story
Life
I am coming up on completing 30 years in ther Navy. Seems like only yesterday. Still married to the same wonderful woman for 28 some years. My youngest (Justin) is getting ready to graduate from college in May of 05. My Oldest (Jacqui) is doing well and managing a Bath and Body works store. I just returned to VA Beach after completing 2 and half years in Lemoore CA. I was the Commanding Officer for a major school house there. I am currently serving on an Admirals staff and am due to role to a ship in May 06. Should be my last tour if I don't make Captain. My lovely wife (Vanya) was recently promoted to Office Manager of one of First Commands regional offices. If any one from the class of 75 is ever in VA Beach drop by and see us.

What can I say; it has been almost 30 years since I first reported for boot camp in San Diego back in August of 1975. Completed my first tour in Lemoore California in 1979. Left as a second-class petty officer, made two cruises on the USS Enterprise in a squadron (VA-97) of A-7E corsair aircraft. Spent the next few years at NAS Whidbey Island. Completed tours in VA-128, VA-165 and VAQ-130. Was advanced to first class petty officer and eventually was initiated as a Chief Petty Officer and was then commissioned an Ensign all before my tour at Whidbey was over. I made four cruises on various aircraft carriers, the USS Ranger, USS Kitty Hawk and the USS John F. Kennedy. I made several western pacific cruises and one around the world cruise and an extensive and en...Expand for more
