David's Story
It's hard to find a good starting point. I guess I will start from the last time I was at Selma High School. I finished my Jounior year at SHS (though I wasn't the best or most motivated student ever) I only had enough credits to make me a sophmore. Then my dad moved us to Fresno and I started at Hoover HS. In January I was arrested for smoking Pot on campus (I am sure that is no supprise to most of the people that knew me.) I got out of jail that same day and was consequently expelled from school. Within a couple of months I moved to San Diego where I got mixed up in some not so good things and missed all my court dates for the previous offense. by the time I was 19 I moved back to Fresno and was still thinking I wanted to party but my good friend Scott had started going to church and talked me into going also.I started working out regularly and became a pretty decent Christian. That went well for a few years until I fell off the wagon so to speak (the details I will not go into). I found myself partying again. I took the GED exam and passed with no problem then started taking classes in buisiness which lasted until I got laid off...Expand for more
and my uncle kicked me out of his house because I was up late partying every night. So I was sleeping on friends couches and pretty much bouncing around when some friends of mine who Indian dace in Colorado asked if I wanted to join them for the summer. I did and found a job right away and decided to stay I have been here ever since I got into construction and worked my way up throught the ranks as a landscaper then carpenter and now a superintendent building $1 million doller plus comercial and Government buildings. I met my wife when I was 27 and we had our first child when I was 30 then 1 year and 5 months later we had our second son. There names are Joshua age 13 on march,24th and Drew age 11 aug 27th. I have definately changed over the years and have become a truly blessed person. I am going to finish my AAS degree in Architectural Engineering and Construction management hopfully by the end of this year I have 5 classes left after this semester. Better late than never I always say. Truthfully I don't know who that kid was anymore. I am not a big fan of Country music but The River by Garth Brooks pretty much sums it up for me.
