David's Story

My AVHS memories are very vivid since my year as the AFS exchange student was unique, exciting and filled with many different experiences. After graduation, and the traditional 1-month bus tour which culminated in D.C. and a White House visit with President Kennedy, I returned to Egypt and studied Architecture at Alexandria University as planned. There I married my Swiss-born wife, Margrit, in 1968. We had met in Zurich 2 summers earlier when we were both college students. In 1974 we immigrated to the U.S. and have li...Expand for more
ved in Southern California since, where we raised 2 wonderful daughters. Both are married with children. One lives nearby in Pasadena, CA and the other in Switzerland. I happily retired from the Insurance business in 2002 at age 60. If I had business cards now, the job-title would read "doting Grandpa (of five ages 1 to 8) and world-traveler". Regretfully, I completely lost touch with my classmates, even my host-brother and fellow-senior Ben Mayo, these last 48 years. Delighted to be re-connected through this site.
