David's Story
My AVHS memories are very vivid since my year as the AFS exchange student was unique, exciting and filled with many different experiences.
After graduation, and the traditional 1-month bus tour which culminated in D.C. and a White House visit with President Kennedy, I returned to Egypt and studied Architecture at Alexandria University as planned. ved in Southern California since, where we raised 2 wonderful daughters. Both are married with children. One lives nearby in Pasadena, CA and the other in Switzerland.
I happily retired from the Insurance business in 2002 at age 60. If I had business cards now, the job-title would read "doting Grandpa (of five ages 1 to 8) and world-traveler".
Regretfully, I completely lost touch with my classmates, even my host-brother and fellow-senior Ben Mayo, these last 48 years. Delighted to be re-connected through this site.
