David's Story
Life
Wow, 1961 seems a life time away and Central HS is a blur of short reminiscences. After graduation I enlisted in the Air Force and my first assignment was Alaska. I rode out the big earthquake of Good Friday 1964 and I have been quaking ever since. I spent a year in Tennessee learning and training on the C-130 aircraft which would eventually transport me around the world for the next 15 years. Then off to Vietnam for my first of three tours of duty as part of a clandestine outfit that supported the Fifth Special Forces and their SOG operations. In between tours I got married had two boys and finally got station in Arizona again. I retired a Senior Master Sergeant with Bronze Star, several Air Medals, nine battle campaigns and Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry to name a few.
I went back to school earning a Bachelor of Science in Aviation and MasterÂs in Business. I spent four years on the NASA Shuttle Program fabricating the External Tank. The Company transferred me to Colorado to build commercial missiles ending up that program with a successful launch of the first mission to Mars. I got downsize and fFor the first time in thirty years I found my self without study employment. But why worry as Jack Palace said in City Slickers: ÂYou want to know the secret to life, it is just one, thing, just one thing, once you figure that out everything else donÂt mean shit.Â.
So I figured out the secret and started my own company which gave me time to be the state congressional district chairperson for a 1972 presidential race. I decided to run for city council but I lost and never got one kickback for all my efforts, I am currently working on BoeingÂs new 787 all composite Dreamliner and it looks like it is going to revolutionize aircraft fabrication.
For my time off I have prospected in Alaska and Arizona but never made the big strike just some flakes and dust sounds like a gay bar in ...Expand for more
San Francisco. Currently I have a Kawasaki Voyager and my Golden Retriever rides with me in the sidecar. Boy what a babe magnet she is, and she never says Âare we there yet or gets mad if I donÂt asked for directions.
My kids are grown and I have gone through three wives and now find myself a bachelor again but I still donÂt do house work. Hey with all the illegal aliens` in Texas, you hire a third world maid and when time comes to pay you call Immigration. I havenÂt figure out woman after all these years. To women , men are just speed bumps in the highway of life and how many times has a man said to a woman you need to get in touch with your masculine side. I will say one thing all my wives were good house keepers as they kept the house.
So I enlisted as a volunteer with the Billy Graham Crusade in Dallas and with the Promise KeeperÂs organization in Colorado. I loved those first couple of years when NOW showed up PK rallies shouting, Âpay your child support or woman are buying this crap. Of course Over the Rainbow gays were there hold hands and with signs that said: Jesus was a gay guy too. . I even study apologetics at Biola University when I was in California, go figure uh.
Between the military and civilian service I have lived in California, Kansas, Arizona (twice), Colorado, Louisiana and Texas (twice). After a few years I seem to get itchy feet and want to move, it keeps the exes and bill collectors off balance. I have visited or short lodgings in about fifty countries and lived in Japan, Okinawa and Taiwan but as Dorothy said: ÂToto there is no place like home. I hope I hear from some of you and you havenÂt entered that twilight stage of life: Âwhere you have Jamaican maid that you call momma, you are taking Vigra because all you think about is sex but nothing is going on south of the border and if something does happen you canÂt remember what it means.
