David Flores:  

David attended schools in El Monte for most of his youth. He transferred to Alhambra High in the spring of 1972. He was a member of the USC Debate Team and a debate partner with Jeff Kaplan. Alhambra debate coach, Greg Cullen, was a USC alumni and had a influenced on David's decision to go to USC. David graduated from USC college in 1978 and USC Law School in 1981. He became a government contracts attorney in Washington D.C. (1981 to 1984). He was a contract negotiator at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena from 1984 to 1990 and became an attorney for Caltech from 1990 to the present. He is responsible for contracts and business issues at both the Caltech campus and JPL. JPL spends about a billion dollars per year on contracts to build spacecraft to explore the Solar System and rovers to drive on Mars.
