Life Hi! Thanks for stopping by to check on my life! I remember seeing a lot of old friends at our class reunion back in 1997, and am amazed that it's only two years away from our 30th anniversary! After high school, having little confidence in my ability to live independently at that time, I went to Lenoir-Rhyne College and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in History in 1981. It has hung on the wall of my office and collected dust ever since. I went to work in the radio business right out of college, thinking it was a good fit for my disability. I later became the news department (literally, I was responsible for deciding what was news, going out and covering it, writing the copy, putting it on the air, and taking responsibility for it afterward) for WIRC Radio in Hickory from 1982 until 1993. I escaped the lovely, low-paid, overworked world of radio in 1993 to become Public Information Officer for Catawba County and I remain in that job...Expand for more
