Life After graduating 4th Baptist High School, where I met my girlfriend, Moonyeen Bongaards, now wife (Nena as she is now called), she went off to Liberty University in VA, and I followed through on my decision to attend Maranatha Baptist Bible College in WI. I loved my time there, as God placed me with 3 interesting roommates, Kevin Thoman, Phil (white glove inspection fink) forgot last name (sorry), and Peter Wright. Peter invited me to join a male acapella quartet, which I absolutely loved. Unfortunately, I got burnt out and a little whacked out with hyper dramatic fundamentalist notions, and when I returned home at Christmas time, my family, insisted I not return. But my stuff was still there. So my sister and I drove back and retrieved my stuff under cover of darkness (just kidding.) I then decided to follow my heart and attend Liberty U, 1200 miles away from home, which felt like the same distance from home as Maranatha, based on the number of times I went home that first year in each Year, each semester (Zero.) God's sense of humor is amazing. From strict Maranatha, to lenient Liberty, I ended up with 2 graduating seniors, who were, shall we say, less than focused on God and his plan for their lives. They thought they were in for a sweet final semester with just the 2 long time friends, but no, no, no. God dropped in a good conservative Bible-thumping goodie two shoes. (me, if you need a light turned on or if you're wood's wet.) They had 4 in their room, in the first semester.
