David's Story
For past 34 years, have taught full-time computer science/information systems, presently at Northern Michigan University, and previously at institutions in California, Colorado, Nebraska, and Georgia. Before that, worked in university campus ministry in Mexico for 11 years, after initial 2 years of teaching high school Spanish. Married for 50 years with 5 children (they live in Portland, OR, Utah, Washington, DC; Princeton, NJ; and Guatemala), 11 grandchildren. Presently reside in Marquette, MI, snowiest metropolitan area in USA (180 inches annual snowfall). Have lived in 9 other states, from coast to coast, and 4 1/2 years in Mexico. aribbean, South America, Asia, and throughout Europe. Education: BA Cal Baptist, MA Eastern U, MA Temple U, MBA U of Arizona, doctoral study Duke U, Ph.D. Texas Tech U. Interests: study and play piano, foreign languages, hiking, classical music--including attending concerts and operas, while traveling in USA or abroad. Since attending Banning 50th class reunion in 2014, promoted to "full" professor, extensive travel by auto, plane, and train throughout the USA across Canada, as well as a number of cruises in the Caribbean, Central America, and the maritime provinces of Canada. Also, planning a New Zealand/Australia cruise in December 2018, with a few days in Tahiti and Hawaii, in celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary.
