David's Story

Life I have been working as an Control/Instrument Engineer with Aramco in Saudi Arabia since January 12 1980. Saudi Arabia has been a great experience both work-wise and socially. I got married in 1982 to a fantastic lady (Ishrat), originally from Karachi Pakistan, and had five(5!) sweet daughters, Sarah(83), Sophia(85), Sonya(87), Michelle(90), and Sasha(94) who are at various levels of school in US and here. In 2009 I retired from Saudi Aramco and moved back to San Antonio,Texas and spent two month catching up with life in US. I then moved to Houston where I worked for KBR on a new Refinery project until the end of 2011. After that I had two assign...Expand for more
ments in Saudi Arabia on Saudi Aramco jobs, which ended in October 2014. I have enjoyed attending the last reunion in San Antonio this last March. Workplace Started my work career while I was still at UT-Austin, working for the Air Force Security Service during the summers. When I graduated in 70, I went to work for General Telephone of the Southwest in San Angelo, Texas. In '76 I left San Angelo for Houston to work as a Electrical/Controls Engineer with Lovaca Gathering Co. From there I moved in 1978 to Crest Engineering in Houston, which was my stepping stone to my present engineering job in Instrumentation/Controls at Aramco in Saudi Arabia.
