David's Story
Life
I live about a mile down the road from where i grew up on Hickory ridge Rd. (or old mud lane as it used to be called). I'm happily married and have the most wonderful daughter anyone could ever ask for. My wife and I cannot have anymore kids... to my displeasure, and i really wanted a boy... so i have a chubby beagle named hunter that i spoil terribly and a cat named "Izzy" or Isabell. I'm an ordained minister and enjoy my church and family imensely. I love to fish, if you couldnt tell by my pics, and am always wading, bellyboating, and canoeing the Darby and local lakes and ponds. I'm an avid NFL fan and still love the 5 time superbowl champion Steelers!!! Love to chat with friends and cookout so give me a buzz and we'll grill...lol.
School
I had a big crush on Julie Nicol. I really enjoyed Mr. Cadwallader and he taught me how to be serious yet have a sense of humor. I'd never go back and do anything over again in fear that i wouldn't be the person i am today and be with my wonderful family. I still remember when i got every body kicked out of the Library and was kicked out for life cuz i was laughing at Kenny Burton and ...Expand for more
telling stories of Shawn Forsythe. Kenny threw his pencil at the ceiling and it stuck in the tile. He was throwing a encyclopedia to get it out and knocked the whole ceiling tile out and turned over a row of books...when i asked what he was doing? he replied " getting my pencil" everyone lost it and we all got kicked out. Me for life because i couldnt stop laughing and fell backwards in my chair and held my gut laughing! I'll also never forget Junior and Senior Campout. In a word: WOW!
Military
I was known as Seaman Recruit Pass out in bootcamp. I lost 35 pounds in 7 weeks and nearly starved myself to do it. It was the first time i was under 200pounds since 5th grade. lol I was hospitalized for malnutrition for 3 days, but i graduated on time. Served aboard the USS Inchon LPH-12 as an Operations Specialist. I made sailor of the month during desert storm/shield for serving as the anti-air warfare commander for my whole battlegroup as an E3(its usually done by an E4 or E5). I visited 13 different countries and got to see the world.... and believe it or not couldn't wait to come back home to Ohio and never plan to leave again...lol
