David's Story
Life
let's see..... I live in Atlanta now and have been in the Georgia area for about 10 yrs. I Graduated from Valdosta State with a BFA in art (Summa Cum Laude.) I am skilled in almost all traditional media (drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, photography, etc), but have concentrated in 3d animation and graphics with a lesser concentration in photography. I was married for almost 9 yrs but had no children and my wife passed away. My main goal now is to become a writer and director of animated film. I prefer to work in two animation styles, clean G-rated comedy (such as Pixar produces), and very politically incorrect satire (such as Family Guy, South Park, and Boondocks.)
School
If I had to do it again I would have moved out at 16 and worked my way through high school so that I could have studied what truly interested me and not what I was forced to take. But then, I didn't know then what I know now.
College
I rememebe...Expand for more
r my 35 hrs of homework outside of class per week (which usually had to be done at school in studios) on top of holding down a part-time job and full-time school. Basically, no life and little sleep. I was also politically active with some other rabble rousers at school and had my share of getting yelled at by the Art Department head in his office :) (something to do with organizing an unsanctioned protest and showing up with a news crew at a big social event attended by the deans of my college....) It was worth it though, the University actually had to change some of it's policies because of us! heh heh However, I gained respect from the faculty for it who awarded me a scholarship 2 mos later! LOL
Workplace
I currently waste away my hrs as a graphic designer for a diamond and Jewelry wholesaler during the week and on weekends I'm an intern for a Hollywood pre-production FX company. So it's either elegant classy ads or cheesy monsters for me.
