I have lived in Riverside, CA for the last 16 years [as of 2010] where I've worked as a private investigator and most recently, a real estate investor and currently I am in the process of getting my real estate license. I have suffered from end-stage renal failure [kidney failure] for the last 15 years and have been on dialysis for 14 of those years. I was diagnosed at 24 and on dialysis by age 25. I am currently one step away from being put on the transplant list at Loma Linda University Medical Center [dental clearance is all I need] and since Loma Linda does time credited towards the 8 year wait time on the transplant list, 14 years puts me at the top of the list [once I'm listed]. I have a 21 year old daughter that I'm very proud of [Emma], a fiancee that I live with and her 2 boys [Ian-14 & Ari-10], and my 8 year old cat [Snuggies]
I was married at 20 [3 weeks shy of my 21st birthday] separated at 22, and divorced by 23. I then met my daughter's mom [after several failed "relationships"] and was with her for 13 years [never married]. I now am with my fiancee [again with the in between failed "relationships"] that I've been with for a year and a half and live with here in Riverside
Family? One brother I haven't spoken to in 5 years [WCHS class of '93] and a "sister" I haven't spoken to in roughly 15 years [I lost count years ago and it doesn't matter to me anyway --- class of '91]. My "mother" died of cervical cancer Feb 6, 1990. My grandpa died of complications of a kidney transplant [Oct. 1991], and my grandma died of natural causes Nov 2004
FROM THE STORY WIZARD [MY ANSWERS IN CAPS]
I always wanted to be an MLB PITCHER when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a LONG-SHOT OF AN idea. As it turns out, they were RIGHT SINCE I BLEW OUT MY LEFT...Expand for more
KNEE AND RIGHT ELBOW
Which teacher would you love to see again? Why? SIMPLE ANSWER, TIM RITTER. HE WAS THE 1 PERSON WHO INSPIRED ME TO BE THE BEST ATHLETE I COULD BE. HE WAS ALSO 1 OF THE FEW TEACHERS I EVER HAD THAT COULD GET MY ATTENTION, GET ME TO LEARN WHAT HE WAS TEACHING, & RETAIN THAT INFORMATION
What happened to your first crush? HAHAHAHAHAHA... SHE WENT TO MY HIGH SCHOOL OUR SOPH YEAR AND NEVER SAW HER AGAIN
My best friend would tell you I'm INSANE, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as QUIET
I share my home with MY FIANCEE, which I find PERFECTLY FINE WITH ME.
You get one do-over. What do you do differently? BELIEVE IT OR NOT, NOTHING. I BELIEVE EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON
In 10 years, I hope to be LIVING WITH A NEW KIDNEY. I'm going to get there by COMPLETING THE NECESSARY STEPS.
Talk about your oldest friend ¿ how you met and why you clicked.
BOB NEVINS. WE MET MY SENIOR YEAR IN HIGH SCHOOL [1989] DURING STUDY HALL. WE CLICKED CAUSE WE WERE THE ONLY 2 STUDENTS AT WHITTIER CHRISTIAN HIGH THAT USED A CUSS WORD EVERY 3 WORDS, GOT DETENTION ON A DAILY BASIS, AND DITCHED AT LEAST 1 CLASS A DAY 5 DAYS A WEEK. WE WERE CLONES OF EACH OTHER, SIMPLE AS THAT
What about you would surprise everyone at your high school reunion? UHHHHH.... THAT I WOULD ACTUALLY BE AT ONE
My first job was at ELEC HEAT/AIR [SUMMER AFTER JR YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL], where I got paid $5/HR to INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING & HEATING DUCTS. What I remember most about it is GETTING FIBERGLASS STUCK IN MY EYE AND SCRATCHING MY CORNEA, OUCH!
Share a childhood memory you'll never forget. BEING PUNCHED IN THE EYE DURING RECESS IN KINDERGARTEN, THEN FINDING THE KID AFTER SCHOOL, SHOVING HIM TO THE GROUND, JUMPING ON TOP OF HIM, THEN BEATING HIS FACE OVER AND OVER AGAIN... AH, GOOD TIMES
How do you hope old friends remember you? I'D SETTLE FOR JUST BEING REMEMBERED AT ALL
