David's Story

Well, for the past ten years since we all met up in Sherman, TX. In 1998 I started my own business something I knew because I have been associated with it almost my life. The Sporting Goods Industry ie Athletic products. I loved it speaking with people in the same field and selling to people all over the US. It was a small company, but I sold a variety of items even if I was a small company. Most of myclients were referalls from Sport Life out of South Carolina. I made a lot of friends and new customers too. In 2003 I met a beautiful person on the internet and went to see if this person was real or a makeup artist. She wasn't, but she didn't know if I could be trusted. So, I had to build that trust something she had never had in her life. When the twin towers in NY happened my business was about to take off. Then the bottom dropped out of the entire industry no one was buying and my business I had to buy it 6 months in advance to get the best pricing and free frt. I had perchased a load of batting tees and I do mean a load of them. When the established wholesalers were selling theirs for 45% mark-up I was sticking to the normal 33% markup. The Sport Life Dealers all wanted a great discount and my pricing was what they wanted to see. At one ...Expand for more
time I had the largest collection of baseball/softball gloves in the US. I had Spalding; Dudley; Regent; MacGregor; GUERRERO; Worth; SSK and George Brett. I just loved the smell of toned leather. Then 2003 business was still runnin really slow something happened on the internet. Someone perked my attention. We met at Gettyburg,PA and the sparks flew. She came down to TX and she loved the weather esp the heat. I moved out of Dallas and my little company to a small town in NE TX Tira. I found a perfect house, but after I had paid for the house I found out I had to have some sort of ag on it. We tried goats we got rid of the goats. I have always wanted little horses so we invested in thoses. She left in 2007 after helping me through Brain Cancer in 2005. I still have my little guys and mares and the doctor said it gave me something to fight for and it was to be able to keep my babies healthy. If you love horses you'll fall in love with these. I have, their names are: Sazzie; Zunnie; Yackie; Shosonie; Kiowa(mule); Navaho; Chicsaw(smallest stallion) and the might Cherrokee(my carting horse). Next year I will be pronouced cancer free. Oddly enough the Cancer didn't damage my brain as much as some think it only hurt my ability to was or run.
