David's Story

I went into the Army when I graduated, 82nd Airborne, Ft. Bragg, N.C. ... I couldn't go regular Army had to be some kind of Special Forces. Boxed about the whole time I was in, was All Army Boxing Champ for the 4 years. I had a parachute accident in 79' which ended my boxing career, while getting ready for the Olympics, a second time, first time was in 76' were I was beaten by Sugar Ray Leonard, so, my military career was ended the same time. Went right into college when I left N.C., made it back to Florida and got a degree in Nursing, then EMT/Paramedic work, then as a Urology Tech., then 2 years in Nuclear Medicine. While on and off in college I was married, a daughter, Shawna who is 30 years old now and with 3 grand kids. Then I have two boys Steele (20) and Stone (12), in which Stone lives with me and Steele with his mother. I also started into "Body building" and personal training, I was 1984 Mr. Orlando AAU and Mr. Orlando NPC, later Mr. Citrus Cup Mens winner and couples winner, with other tiles leading up to Winner of the Mr. Southern USA Lightweight Champ. Then I started up two gyms, one in Winter Park called "Definitions", this lasted about 14 years. Then went back into medicine, and decided to try Cardiac Studies Invasive and have 18 months to go, ... not bad for an old man ... right? When I graduate ... I hope to practice my studies, try to keep with my kids around me or just try to keep up with them in my life, and relax ................................. Get in touch with ...Expand for more
friends .... I was the silent kid in classes .... some kids knew I was a boxer, along with another classmate "Jimmy Clay" and the "O'shea Twins", they also wrestled, they were our schools silent athletes. Went to Grad Night with Teresa Hughes .... she was sweet .... and dated Lil' McIntosh .... a really sweet girl who probably should have married if I had any brains .... but, our lives led us in different directions as a lot of us do. Did you ever think of some one who knew you were going to be with the rest of your life and then later in years find out they married some one totally out of character of their personality? Over the years I've seen a lot of school friends caught up in those marriages .... if we only knew then what we know now? Right? God bless everyone and please write ............ Blow off steam by boxing, jujitsu practices ................. and relaxing to me is sitting or lying at the beach. I always wanted to be a boxer, and doctor when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea, medicine came later in life idea. As it turns out, they were boxer came true, medicine again was later. Mrs. Mozzilo, she took me in, off the streets after a very abusive father and abusive foster homes, she gave me a new path to follow to become the person I am today .... I am not the bad person I should have turned out to be because of life teachings .... she was my hero and a true mother and parent .... love you mom. I box and do jujitsu workouts, and relax by the beach.
