Life After active duty in the Marines, I began my work career at the National Geographic Magazine as a writer/photographer, living in Washington, D.C. Fifteen years later, after extensive foreign and domestic travel, I moved to Tucson Arizona, to take the position of Director for Public Affairs for the National Science Foundation's optical astronomy programs. Five years later, I moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico to head the public affairs department.
