David's Story
After high school I continued playing with my rock band and attended electronics school. The band broke up and I graduated electronics school with a AA in electronics.I started to, work repairing office equipment after I graduated. About a year ( 9/11/87 ) later I married my girlfriend of two years.Her name is Candace Pratt.We just celebrated our 23nd anniversary. During the spring of 98 I became a christian.That following summer I was baptized and later went into the gospel ministry. From 1992-1994 I served as associate pastor at Valley Baptist Church in Glencoe, Al. I then served as pastor of Dry Valley Baptist Church in Lincoln, Al from 1994-1996. I left there after I was forced to resign because I invited a black church to worship with us. One of the great things that happened while I was pastoring is our son Elijah was born. day job working on office equipment. During this time I started classes at Samford University. I started a new job at U.A.B. working on security equipment. We decided to move to Birmingham since I was working and going to school over here. During the time I was going to school we had our second miracle come along.Our daughter Olivia. After going to school full time and working full time,in 2001 I graduated Magna cum laude with a Bachelors in biblical studies with a minor in counseling. I sent out resumes, talked to a number of churches, preached at all my friends churches, and I did serve as a Elder at a couple of churches that we attended, but nothing opened up. I prayed and did some soul searching. I considered nursing school and seriously considered med school but there were too many obstilcals in the way. Instead my wife wen't to nursing school. Since then we have both been working and raising our 15 year old and our 11 year old. I play guitar as much as I can,and try to have some fun.
