David's Story
I moved to Oregon in 1980 to go back to school and got an MS in Park Management from the University of Oregon. I've lived in Eugene ever since, doing Environmental Advocacy. In 1983, I co-founded the Waldo Wilderness Council and we were successful in achieving Wilderness protection for 37,000 acres around Waldo Lake in the Oregon Cascades, one of the three cleanest lakes in the world. Conservation Chair for 6 years for our Local Audubon Society. Currently, I am President of Friends of Douglas-fir National Monument, proposing to restore and protect a section of national forest in the Oregon Cascades.
