David's Story

Life Hi friends and the morbidly curious. Now in the middle 50s (u2 eh?) I find joy in the same things I did when you knew me long ago. Music still defines me, though I never had much commercial success at it. I now play for the love of it and I enjoy playing my piano or one of my many guitars. Can't sing very well anymore (yeah I know, never really could). After three songs I'm hoarse. But playing music is still my favorite thing and defines me better than my job. I'm the director of Engineering at a small company in Seattle. I guess I like it OK having had the same job for 18 years. At least there is the occasional cool business trip. My second passion is travel. I have been all over the world both for business and pleasure and hope to see more and more. Just last April I traveled to Scotland and Ireland with my wife and our best friend. Travel without kids is something I'm starting to enjoy. But we had many great family vacations and the family favorite is Hawaii and our various European trips. I am married to a beautful native Canadian, and we have 3 lovely daughters that I love so much. My oldest is a senior in college, next a college junior and youngest a freshman in High school (in 2007). I'm dreading weddings to come and hope they hold out a while. n our three kids and I for one are looking forward to their successful entry into this world. My wife would have more, if it was up to her. I did get married too early in 1972. That marriage lasted 8 years and was a bitter lesson for me. My ex lives in Florida and we have very little contact. No children...heck we were children when we married. I have happy memories and the bad ones have faded. I met my current wife while in San Diego, and we have been happily married for 22 years. The worst time of my life other than the divorce, was when my father retired from the Air Force and moved the family to Greeley CO. I had good friends and liked my social position at Cabrillo High. It was a tough age to move. I was a bitter and sullen Junior. But later things got better and I made the best of it. My two best friends are those I met in Greeley. But a part of me wished I had graduated from Cabrillo, no offense to University High Classmates. It just that I was not welcome there which I'm sure was all my fault. Those of you who have touched my life are always welcome here in Seattle. Look me up. I use my middle name in the phone book, since David Taylor is such a common name. David RYAN Taylor. Live long, live happy. And Ginger, I don't remember Physics class at all. I have better things to remember.
