David's Story

Life Life has been good to me. I joined the Army right out of High School. I enlisted as a Military Police Officer and continued to serve my country for seven and a half years. Wanting to do something a bit more fun I became a AH-64D Longbow Apache Pilot. It's a military Attack Helicopter that the Army employs on the modern day battle field. I have been married before didn't work out though. I have one little girl Nicole(14) a son Jason (6)as of the year 2008. I am a CW3 now. Retirement is just around the corner in 2011. I'd like to throw a big party when I do and have all my friends there. Its been way to long since I have seen you all. Take care and talk to you soon. Quick update. 28 Sep 2008. Well I am deployed again. Here in Iraq. Yay me. Also have bad news. My sister Dawn has leukemia and is in the hospital. She has received her first round of chemo today. It went well. I may have to come home and be tested to see if I am a match for her marrow. When it rains it pours. I am just getting over losing a nephew six monthes ago. Poor kid was only 15. School High school was a blast...ok so I had my days to. Who didn't. Over all it rocked. I made my own fun and worked my ass off to pay for my car and pay for my insurance. Maybe if I was lucky I had enough cash to hang out and party with my friends. Never did homework..never did like it, and hung around friends who thought the same way. You know I wouldn't have changed a thing either. Spending time with John, AL, Scott, Mark, and a few others playing on my computer (commadore 64c) and being on the internet before anyone knew about the internet with compuserve. Hey Scott remember "pour so sugar on me". God there were so many good times as I look back. Did what I wanted (and still do) staying out all night sleeping just a little .. did I mention not doing homework. Going to school falling a there, and then going to work only to go out after work and doing it all over again. Relationship wise I only have one regret and I think everyone who kn...Expand for more
ows me, knows what that is so I don't have to put that down. Teachers who least inspired me oh that is easy. Mrs. Albergine the typing teacher. Who could stand to sit there and listen to her say FJ space FJ space. The same could be said for MRS Westover. Would could stand to sit there and listen to her put down the students. She helped out some students but if she didn't like you ... you wasn't worth her time. Teachers who inpired me,and pushed me Major Gaetjens and Master Sergeant Bartton, and Mr Berman from Charlestown high school. They always knew I could do it if I would buckle down and just do the work. Being as young as I was...I wasn't having it. The worst thing that happend to me in high school. Was when I found out that the Boston Public School system took the Umana High School away from us during the summer months when they knew the student body wouldn't be able to assemble and spread us to the four winds. Most of the students going to Boston tech and me being me. I followed the ROTC program to Charlestown High school. I missed out on the best years of high school school thanks to the Boston Public School System. From what I understand from my friends that went to Boston Tech everything changed or just went down hill for them when they got there. Thats sad cause as a school we were a school to be dealt with in the system. Taking the third best school in the system and just throwing it away way was something I for one will never forgive the Boston Public Schools for doing to us. Military I don't know why I'm writing this. If you know me at all you have always kept up to date either through me or my friends. To make a long story short I was a M.P. for 7 1/2 years. I got to help the people that needed my help and put people away that were hurting others. I contiune to do that as an U.S. Army pilot flying the AH-64 ATTACK Helicopter. This time I protect the ground guys (no matter what service or nation), and usually get shot at for my efforts. FUN!. Write if you want to know more.
