David's Story
After graduating from high school and working at a few odd jobs for several years, I went back to school in 1977 to take a two year post-secondary course at York Vo-Tech to study mechanical drawing. From there, I got my first real job as a mechanical draftsperson at a small machine shop in York, PA where I worked until the company went out of business in 2002. I was married in 1979 and I have one daughter who was born in 1983. I now have three grandchildren.
I am a former girls' fast pitch softball coach and a former slow pitch and fast pitch softball umpire. My highest accomplishments as a softball umpire include ASA National Tournaments, PIAA District 3 High School Playoffs, and NCAA Women's College fast pitch at the Division 2 and 3 levels. I am a former President of both the York County Junior Girls Softball League and Pleasureville/North Hills ...Expand for more
Youth Club where my daughter played fast pitch softball for 12 years. I owned an early 1960's vintage dirt track race car for 12 years. I drove it for show and exhibition track time at Eastern Museum of Motor Racing/Williams Grove Old Timers events held at most of the local dirt tracks. I currently have a growing collection of antique Wheel Horse garden tractors, one of which was my dad's original 1962 Wheel Horse tractor that took me three years to restore. I also own and drive a Wheel Horse pulling garden tractor. I enjoy doing genealogy research and have traced my families history back as far as the 1600's.
I am currently working full time as a material handler for a flexible packaging company near York, PA where I started working as a machine operator in 2005. I also have a part time job working as the caretaker/manager of a cemetery since 2003.
