David's Story

After High School graduation I spent several months of futility searching for a job in the area and then joined the US Air Force. I had assignments in Texas, Mississippi, New York, Alabama and Alaska. About half way through the enlistment, I married Lois Meade, a 1964 graduate of Kermit HS, WV, who was from my Mom's old home town. We are still married. We have one child, a daughter, and a grandson. After the military we spent 17 years in the Williamson,WV area, where I worked for AEP, then N&W, then a coal company. In 1985 we moved to the Huntington, WV area and I worked in industry until August of 2008 when I "retired". All of my work experience was in technical maintenance...Expand for more
or engineering. I earned degrees from Southern WV Community College, Bluefield State and Marshall University. In 1994, after years of stonewalling the Lord, I answered His call into the preaching ministry. I served as pastor at East Kermit Free Will Baptist church from 1995 until 1999 and then came to Big Branch Church at Chesapeake, OH in 2000, where I served as Pastor until February 2010. I have only fond memories of the people I went to school with and always enjoy the reunions I have been able to attend. I am now a heart attack survivor (2008) and a cancer survivor (2009), but praising the Lord for His goodness and mercy. Feel free to get in touch, you will be welcomed.
