David's Story
Life
Quick summary: In 1999, after 17 years living in Manhattan and working in the advertising agency business there, I chucked it all and decided to start over in the West. Since that time I've lived in Montana, Oregon, New Mexico, Ohio (just for a year), and am now back in Montana again. Along the way I picked up a master's degree in journalism (that was the Oregon part of the journey) and then a Ph.D. degree in mass communication (New M...Expand for more
exico). I'm now a professor of media studies at Montana State University in Billings. I love living in the Mountain West and working in academia, although the paychecks can't compare to those of my old advertising days! (Oh, well; everything has its price.)
For fun I ski, hike, bike, go to movies, and play lots of competitive Scrabble. (Yes, I actually play in tournaments--and am currently the highest rated player in my state. No joke.)
