David's Story
I joined the U. S. Army before we formally graduated in '74, (I had the credits so I graduated in December). Just had to get away from home, so I took my "senior trip" to Ft. Gordon, Ga., I was only there for about two months for training as an M.P. and was assigned to Ft. Leavenworth, Ks. I always wanted to be a Police Officer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right. I have now worked in Law Enforcement for 45+ years and just love the work. It has basicly taken me all over the world. I have travelled to Mexico, Canada, Great Britan, Scotland, Ireland, and Cuba while transporting offenders. As for life, I've lived in Kansas, Missouri, Louisiana and Texas, since High School.
My favorite teacher from high school was Mr. Wolfe. He taught our survey ...Expand for more
class. Had both basic and advanced from him and really liked the guy.
My current age is 66. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now were very old. I was so completely wrong.
No that the "big 5-0" has come and gone, I feel like I am still a kid in many respects.
My best friend would tell you I'm very sensative, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as control freak, (I am a bit OCD, I guess).
The girl I liked the most in High School, (but never really told her so), was Denise Sanchez. She was just about the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. At times I wish I would have had the courage to just tell her how I felt. Ah, such are the choices we make in life.
I really do want to connect to old friends and classmates as I had some relly great times and friends in school.
