David's Story
Life
Married to Debra (Taylor) Wood, who graduated from Southern High School. We have two children, girls, Dana and Danielle. Dana has graduated from UNC-CH and is on her own, doing well as a Medical Tech. at Cone Hospital. Danielle graduated from High Point University with a teaching degree and is currently teaching in Forsyth County. Right after high school I joined the navy. In 1970 I became a police officer in Greensboro and retired after 32 years as a Sergeant. I am now embarking on a new c...Expand for more
areer as a Medical Courier. It's nice to go in a business or residence and not hear, "Who the h_ll called you or what are you doing here!"
Military
I joined the Naval Reserves just before graduating from high school. When I registered for the draft I asked this question, "How long before I'm called." Their response was I would be in a rice patty by October. I said not this ole boy.
The time I spent on active duty was priceless. Both the memories and the people I met are engraved in my soul.
