I am mostly retired now after 3 careers. One as teacher and principal in Halton County, mostly in Burlington from 1966 - 98. After I retired in 1998 I went to sell tickets for fun at an AMC multiplex theatre in Oakville. Before long I was Concession Manager and then HR Manager there. I did that for 3 years and wondered why I was working 15 hour days and weekends. I left there in the week of the infamous 9-11 attack. in October 2001 I was hired in the Facilities Department of Tim Hortons Head Office in Oakville where I remained for nearly 13 years . My job was a dream one for me - gardener and groundskeeper. My early years were spent working with a gardener and I had that hobby for my whole life. They let me design and maintain the gardens on their 2 Oakville campuses. In the winter I did multiple tasks for the executives and staff, thoroughly enjoying everyday. I was full time, 7 hours five days per week. In October 2013 I retired again and now work once a week on a 4 1/2 are private estate in Oakville. The rest of the time I travel, enjoy photography, paint and am currently finishing an historical memoir about an area of Burlington on Lake Ontario where I lived when I wasn't at school. I lived there with my grandparents and my visiting parents when they came from Toronto holidays and weekends. My whole life till the age of 25 was spent in 2 milieus - the "country, now Burlington, and the city , Pape and Danforth area of Toronto. Then I moved to Burlington full time in 1966.
