David's Story

Life Parent's names: Allen & Ruth Yeubanks. My father, Allen, passed away of Cancer January 31, 2001. Sister's name: Kristine (now Filan as she married a great guy named Jason and they have a son, A.J., and a daughter, Brookie). I Graduated in 1989 (senior classmates were Mark Miller, Matt VanDerAa, and Mike Angers). Favorite teachers: Jeff Wright, Randy Rose, Sam Roach, Joe Memmel. After highschool, worked as a painter (for my brother-in-law), also occasionally helped out my dad in his drywall business, and later worked as a shipping manager for a major Seattle firm (Alerton Technologies). In the evenings (usually Wednesday and Friday nights) I spent my time down on the inner city streets of Seattle with the S.W.A.T. team evangelistic outreach program (started this in my sophomore year of high school - one of the best times of my life working with street kids). Eventually, I resigned from the team and moved to the Tri-Cities in 1991-1992 and attended Christian Life School of Theology & Seminary and achieved my Associates degree in Theology. Also graduated the Master's Commission program and the School of Youth Ministry (Portland, OR). Served as junior high youth leader for a year, then on the worship team at the church I was attending in Richland, WA, also served for a year as assistant worship leader for the same church's sister fellowship in Hermiston, OR and then for several months in Yakima, WA. From 1995 through 2001 my home became sort of a "revival" hot spot in the Tri-City area. We (my former roommates and I) held nightly prayer meetings all week long and the door was always open (even when we were not home). It was not uncommon to come home and find several people praying in the living room. Some of the meetings lasted all night and a number of people met Jesus for the first time and some people were actually physically healed. It was wild! My home became known as "the Prayer Shack" because it was an old place, a little run down, roof literally caving in, but it was almost always packed out with people, praying. Quite an incredible period of time in my life. Also played in a couple rock bands during '93-'95 and have played on ocasion for Nashville recording artist, Byron Keith. Opened in concert for Phil Driscoll o...Expand for more
nce too and used to play in Johnny Johnson's band at the Olive Branch night club in Walla Walla, WA. Currently I don't attend "religious meetings" anywhere but prefer simpler means of getting together with other believers in Christ. I got married married September 19th, 2009 to my lovely wife Tammy (who hails from Australia - we met online in 2007) and living in the Tri-Cities (lived in Pasco for awhile, then moved to Kennewick for about 12 years and then moved back to Pasco, 2005 and now living in Kennewick again). My mother lived with us for a little over 5 years before transitioning to a memory care retirement home. She is in her late 80's and dealing with severe dementia, but God has been faithful through every circumstance and mom is doing great at the home. I've worked for a local Association for the past 27+ years now as a computer tech and director of support. Just turned 49 on October 10th, 2020. I owned my own computer business, Venture PC, from 2003-2005 and I author articles on the Christian faith (some of which are viewable online - do a search for TruthForFree - sorry, Classmates won't let me show website URL's). If the website isn't up, you can find it on Facebook too. I love camping, fishing, computers, video games, Scripture study, singing, song writing and theme parks (like Disneyland, Universal Studios and Six Flags - woohooo!). Favorite actors include Peter Sellers (Pink Panther movies) and Steve Carrell (The Office). I also love the cartoon "Home Movies", "Family Guy", "King of the Hill" and the Napoleon Dynamite cartoon (if you haven't seen it and liked the movie, you'll love the cartoon). Some of my favorite movies include The Matrix, Office Space, Godspell, Stigmata, Sound of Music, Jesus of Nazareth and the American Gospel films. I love Joan of Arc movies & books and Celtic music, as well as Trance, Alternative and Rock. U2, Iona, Julie Miller and DBA are my favorite band/artists of all time. Funny how much life changes from your high school days. I've run into a couple people from back then and it's amazing how people change and those old days seem so distant and surreal now. Anyway, this is probably the longest ABOUT section of anyone on this site (hahaha). Hit me up guys, would be cool to say hello!
