David's Story
Hey all,
Time sure doesn't wait does it? Well, I'm retired from the army now, and work for the largest ethanol company in the world. I'm the purchasing agent for the company and I have the privilege of ensuring my plant has zero down time. If I had to pick the perfect job for myself this would be it.
I got married in 95 to an Iowa native whom I met in Colorado Springs, CO. Her name is Paula. We've since had two children. Our oldest is Zachary, he's 13 and in the 8th grade. Quite a carbon copy loves to do whatever dad does. Then came Megan (Maggie Jean) she's in the 5th grade and she's a definite girly girl. She hates sports and loves to play Barbie¿s and to dress-up. Almost forgot my baby, Jasmine is a 4-year-old Bridal Boxer. She doesn't realize she's a dog yet, and follows me everywhere. We all love her to death, and she returns the love tenfold.
I was blessed to have the Army pay for my education before I retired. I'm a busines...Expand for more
s major, and very glad to be complete. If I never have to write another paper, I'll be very happy.
In the last 20 years I've been all over the world. I've had two tours in the Middle East (Iraq), one in South East Asia (Korea), a tour in Germany, Colorado, Missouri, New York, California, Washington, Texas and lastly Vermont. Over these twenty years I always thought of where the perfect retirement location would be.
I retired this past January from the Army and now reside in Missouri. My wife, children and I loved it here. The cost of living is low and the hunting/fishing has to be some of the best in the country. I coach baseball and football in my off time. It limits me on my spare time, but my community here is worth the time I spend.
If any of you notice me while I¿m back in Gowanda visiting my family, say hello and maybe we can reminisce over old times. I wish you all the best and hope your life has been as joyful as mine.
