After service with the US marine Corps I went to work for Consumers Power Company and was there for eleven years. I then was employed by the Eaton County Sheriff's Dept. and spent twenty five years there retiring on feb. 1st 2002. I started as a Patrol Officer assigned to the Delta Township Division. I was assigned for two years to the Crime Prevention Unit and then returned to the Patrol Division in Delta Township. While in the patrol division I was certified and trained as a hostage negotiator, crime scene technician and various other specialized areas. I was promoted to Sergeant in 1992 was a Patrol Supervisor until 1996 when I was assigned to the Administrative Services Division as a supervisor over various administrative functions, i.e. training, purchasing, central records, and a few other areas. After that year I was transferred back to the Delta Patrol Division as a supervisor. Shortly after I was assigned as a Detective Supervisor for another year or so.
