David's Story
Workplace
Presently I am retired now. Helping around the house and yard.
Love mowing the lawn. Looking at setting up a woodworking shop and puttering around.
Military
I was assigned as the only school trained radio operator on the post. I accepted additional duties as Chaplains Assistant - all faiths, Asst. Fire Marshall - Admin Area, Postal Clerk, Cross-trained as Switchboard operator and ABAR (radar) operator. I even did some work (gratis) for a local tea house in Chunju, got on local TV - singing for one of our missionaries, and learned a bit about RC airplanes.
New Stuff
I'm now helping my wife get her flower design business up and running. She makes beautiful arrangement for weddings, centerpieces, remberance. Specializing in grave site care. Sounds a bit weird, yeah, but we've never heard of anyone who makes silk flower arrangements for headstones.
My wife, Judy (from the small village of Tipton) and I are planning our third cruise.
Our first two cruises were to the Bahamas. If you've never been on a cruise, I highly recommend you make the time and go.
Something else we've been doing... making wine. Blackberry Suite was a big hit. Golden Gewertz has been getting rave reviews; Amber Riesling hasn't been out very long but is starting to look good. Just started a Sour Cherry... looking forw...Expand for more
ard to sampling it around the start of the new year. In June, after a weekend in Tequamenon Fall, where I performed a wedding for my step-son and his new bride; my wife and I provided the wine from our label, Blue Barn Wines. The Riesling was superb but the Blacberry was the hit of the open bar.
As you can see by my photo, now, I am an ordained minister. A Man of the Cloth, if you will. Catch up with me on Facebook. I use the same photo. Friend me for details.
And finally, my gourmet chocolate chip cookies are perfected and I hope to have my website is up soon. For now, I am hitting the Farmers Markets in Adrian on Saturdays, and then on Sundays, the State park by MIS, at the corner of M-50 and US-12. The entrance is on M-50 a couple hundred feet north the the intersection, on the left. And for right now I am operating 'Dave's Gourment Cookies' under the Michingan Cottage Law. That means I sell only face to face. And yes, I deliver. Delivery charge depends on how far I have to travel to hand them to you.
I am adding a small paragraph about the small ones in my life now. Step-son and wife have given us two grandsons. As of this writing (2/2020) ages 4 yrs and 18 mo. And wife and I babysit once a week.
Check back and see what I'm up to.
Hope you all are well.
God Bless
