David's Story
After graduating from Peebles in 1978 I joined the Army JAG Corps as a Paralegal. Spent the next 12 years working in Criminal Law and participating in some of the most interesting criminal procedures you could ever imagine. Traveled to Germany where I lived for about 7 years, learned to ski (the Alps), drink beer, drive fast (sometimes after drinking beer but don't tell anyone), and appreciate history.
Selected for recruiting duty and spent then next 12 years in the US Army Recruiting Command. As fantastic as my previous job in the Army was, this one was even better - no sheet. I spent about 7 years in Los Angeles recruiting Soldiers and later became a medical recruiter. I was reassigned to Fort Knox where I retired after 23 years of service - THE best time in my life was in an Army uniform and being a Soldier. I passed that love to my son who is a US Army Ranger (Airborne, Air Assault, Infantry) and was recently selected...Expand for more
for flight school - so he will soon be living one of my other dreams - to fly. Yes, I am living my life through him... LOL.
After retiring I started a company (BedRock Prime) where I serve as its President and CEO. I went back to school and earned my Bachelors in Computer Information Systems (2004), went on to earn an MBA (2006), and I am currently in my 2d year of a doctoral program in management and organizational leadership with a specialty in technology. So there Mr. Bailey - and you said I wouldn't amount to anything - HA!
I have a total of 6 biological children and 5 grandchildren, and 4 step-children. All of whom I am very proud and work hard every day to be their father and be there for them when they need me.
I start my private pilot training next month (a Christmas gift from my wife) and will realize that dream after 80 hours of training! So, clear a corn field and look for me to fly to our 2009 class reunion!
